On the afternoon of April 29, the inaugural session of the Third Trade Union Congress and Employees' Representative Assembly of Jiangsu Geron Special Steel Wire Co., Ltd. was solemnly convened at the conference hall on the second floor of the Employee Cultural Center. The meeting was attended by 17 employee representatives and 7 specially invited delegates, presided over by Jiang Guoping, a member of the preparatory committee.
Mr. Zhou Weibiao, Chairperson of the Second-term Trade Union, delivered the Work Report of the Trade Union. In 2022, under the guidance of the company's Party Committee and superior trade union authorities, and with cross-departmental collaboration, the union thoroughly implemented the resolutions of the Second Employees' Congress and successfully executed seasonal care initiatives including "Spring Care, Summer Relief, Autumn Education Support, and Winter Warmth", achieving remarkable progress across all operational fronts.
General Manager Liu Guoqiang presented the Administrative Work Report. Commencing with a review of 2022 achievements, Mr. Liu acknowledged the workforce's dedication that sustained the company's upward growth trajectory. For 2023, he outlined strategic priorities: reinforcing safety protocols, advancing annual business objectives through market expansion, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and quality stabilization. Additionally, he emphasized accelerating new projects, revitalizing organizational vitality via enhanced incentive mechanisms, and implementing concrete measures to genuinely care for employees.
Through a secret ballot process conducted with transparency and impartiality, the assembly elected along with respective chairpersons for each committee:
- 5 members of the Third-term Trade Union Committee
- 3 members of the Funding Review Committee
- 3 members of the Female Employees Committee
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Liu Guoqiang, General Manager of Geron Special Steel Wire and Secretary of the Third Joint Party Branch, congratulated the successful convening of the congress and expressed gratitude to all participants. He urged union representatives to steadfastly serve as a bridge between management and employees, safeguard workers' legitimate rights and interests, actively address concerns, solve difficulties, and deliver tangible benefits. Calling upon all attendees to lead by example, he rallied the workforce to unite, persevere, and collectively forge new glories.
