On the morning of September 22, these exemplary employees embarked on a delightful journey.
First Stop: Suzhou Museum
To understand a city, start with its museum. Designed by the renowned architect I.M. Pei, the Suzhou Museum is considered his "youngest daughter," a masterpiece imbued with his profound affection and meticulous care. The museum showcases Suzhou's history, culture, and art through four permanent exhibitions: Treasures of Wu, National Relics from Wu Pagodas, Elegance of Wu, and Paintings and Calligraphy of Wu School, featuring archaeological artifacts, Ming-Qing artworks, and exquisite crafts.
Next: The Humble Administrator's Garden
Stepping into this UNESCO World Heritage Site felt like entering a traditional Jiangnan ink painting. Every corner, brick, and tile whispered tales of history and refined design. As the saying goes, "Half of Jiangnan's poetry lies in Suzhou," and this garden embodies that poetic essence.
Final Highlight: Tiger Hill
As Su Shi once said, "It's a regret to visit Suzhou without seeing Tiger Hill." Though modest in size, Tiger Hill is celebrated as the "First Scenic Wonder of Wu." Its lush greenery, serene ponds, and iconic leaning Yunyan Pagoda—often called China's "Leaning Tower of Pisa"—paint a picturesque scene of classical Suzhou charm.
Though brief, the trip immersed our employees in Suzhou's timeless architecture and culture. The journey concluded with the melodic strains of Suzhou Pingtan, leaving everyone refreshed and inspired.
